Newborn Home Visits

  • Available for ALL residents with newborns living within Delaware County, including foster and adopted families.
  • All home visits are free of charge.
  • A registered nurse from the Delaware Public Health District visits new families in the comfort of their homes.
  • Families will receive a special bag during their newborn home visit, which includes resources and items to help you care for your baby.
  • Pack ‘n Plays are available for qualifying families through our partnership with Cribs for Kids.                                                                                              

A Newborn Home Visit Includes:

  • Breastfeeding support offered by a certified lactation specialist
  • Newborn & mom health checkup including baby’s weight check
  • Information on normal baby growth, safety, nutrition & immunizations
  • Referral and linkage to other services
  • Confidential and sensitive care
  • Interpreter services available

Lauren Robinson has worked in the field of lactation for 13 years with 8 years as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant. Lauren is currently the WIC director and Breastfeeding Coordinator for Delaware and Union Counties. She believes everyone has the right to free and high-quality lactation education and stresses the need for families to prepare prenatally for their lactating goals.

Sara Bayless is the WIC Breastfeeding Peer Helper for Delaware and Union County WIC. She has been helping parents meet breastfeeding goals at WIC for 4 years and a Certified Lactation Counselor for 2 years. She teaches quarterly breastfeeding lunch and learns in Marysville and Delaware. Sara is particularly skilled in latch assistance, troubleshooting breast pumps, and knowledgeable about the breast pump market. She has four children of her own, 2 boys and 2 girls. With about 6 years and still counting of personal breastfeeding experience. Using her personal and professional experience Sara is ready to help from getting you prepared to breastfeed during pregnancy through the first year and beyond. Sara continues to work with you after your baby is born to answer any questions or address any concerns.
