DELAWARE, Oh. – The Senior Appliance Pickup service is again available to older adults looking to rid themselves of any electronics and appliances.
This year marks the 16th year for this Delaware General Health District Keep Delaware County Beautiful program, which is funded by SourcePoint. The service is free and available to all Delaware County adults age 55 and older.
Accurate IT will be picking up items for recycling. The company is R2 certified, meaning e-waste is handled in an environmentally-responsible manner.
Residents are limited to one television per household. Multiples of other electronics and appliances will be accepted. Program will continue until funds are depleted.
To schedule a pickup, contact Keep Delaware County Beautiful coordinator Jenifer Way-Young at 740-203-2076 or Alyssa Burcher at 740-203-2047.

DPHD/KDCB didn’t receive funding in 2020 and due to Covid did not request funds in 2021 for the Senior Citizens Appliance Pick up. Sims Recycling (65 London Rd. in Delaware) and Friction Metals (278 Curtis St., Delaware) both accept appliances if the resident can get them there. We suggest calling Sims Recycling at 740-363-9192 or Friction Metals at 740-362-3429 and see if they are aware of any reputable scrap haulers. Other options include Junk King at 1-888 JUNK, 1-800-GOT-JUNK or College Hunks Hauling Junk at 1-614-810-8162.
